I WANT, I WANT, I WANT

December 6, 2015
peace palace hague

It’s a phrase that hits a reflex within me, similar to nails down a chalkboard. I hear it far too often from the mouth of my very own, and very vocal, bundle of joy. I want a drink I want a cuddle I want a biscuit I want chocolate I want this I want that I want Max & Ruby (Netflix, you & I need to have words one day) I want a fluffy unicorn. Not a PINK ONE! A BLUE ONE! I want your sanity. All of it. It genuinely bothers me. Not just the fact that she’s trying…

The Bobux Baby Boots

December 4, 2015
the bobux chelsea boot review

I get a little over excited about the prospect of Christmas. So much so that I’ve been waiting to put our tree up since about the first of November. So, when December does arrive we go all out festive. The tree is up, the mince pies are out and the girls start to wear outfits that are just a bit more fitting for the season. Textures, Knitwear & Tartans are our friend. With the weather providing a frosty chill I was delighted when Bobux got in touch and offered us a pair of stunning Chelsea Boots for Little Red. The chocolate…

Review: All hail The Jumperoo

November 30, 2015
jumperoo review

I don’t know what I was more excited about when I found out that I was pregnant with number two; the baby or the prospect of raiding the attic for all of Big Red’s gadgets and clothes. By far the piece of kit that I was most looking forward to dusting off and spraying with copious amounts of antibacterial liquid was The Fisher Price Rainforest Jumperoo. I deliberated over buying one of these for Big Red for an inordinate amount of time. I spent far too many nights pontificating over it, because spending just shy of £80 on what is effectively a baby…

The Knitted Baby Bonnet

November 27, 2015
baby bonnet ochre pom pom

Bonnets… I can’t get enough of knitted bonnets for babies. Especially if there’s a giant ochre pom pom placed pride of place on the top. It’s not only the way that they frame Little Red’s face that makes me love them so much, it’s also how cosy they are. My Grandmother is Dutch. Her homeland is rather flat, filled with tulips, Gouda cheese; plus it’s also pretty windy. Given this and the fact that she was, as with all Dutch, it seems, a cyclist, the biggest (vocal) concern that she has for my children is whether their ears are suitably protected. Regardless…

The 22 Steps to Nap Time

November 26, 2015
nap time battle

From the moment the first eye rub happens, I’m poised.  Alert. Ready to pounce, like a desperate ninja meerkat. I would never admit it (out loud, but via keyboard seems perfectly reasonable) but there are some days that from the moment the littlest wakes up, I am waiting for this hugely significant indicator. When this first eye rub happens, I feel a rush of excitement knowing that….  Nap Time is coming. But, timing is everything. Like a cool kid at school you can’t act too quickly, for fear of frightening it away. The Nap will sense your desperation and vanish into…

The Best Sleepsuit for Babies

November 20, 2015
bonds wondersuit review

I am not fibbing when I say the rather bold statement that Bonds Wondersuits are by far the best item of clothing for babies. I am very lucky to have a generous Aunt living in Australia who kindly feeds my addiction to this brand. All of the clothes are pretty awesome, but it’s the sleepsuits that really are a must have for any new parent. Instead of closing with what feels like umpteen fiddly poppers there is a two way zip. This is not only highly useful during the stealthy night feed nappy changes, but it also cuts dressing time…
